Is this legal advice?
No. This is the most important thing to understand about Clause. We are a document-generation service, not a law firm, and nothing we produce is legal advice. Using Clause does not create an attorney-client relationship. We assemble a document from the facts you give us; we don't evaluate whether it's the right move for your specific situation. For that, talk to a licensed attorney in your state.
Will these documents hold up in court?
We can't promise that, and you should be skeptical of anyone who does — for any document, from any source. Whether a contract is enforceable depends on the facts, how it's signed and performed, and your state's laws, none of which we can evaluate for you. What we give you is a clear, complete, professionally structured document built from standard clauses and customized to your answers. For anything high-stakes, have a licensed attorney review it before you rely on it.
What if I need something custom or unusual?
Clause is built for the common, standard versions of four document types. If your situation is unusual — an unusual ownership structure, regulated industry terms, international parties, or anything that feels genuinely bespoke — a generated document is a starting point, not a finish line. Generate it to get organized and save your attorney time, then have them tailor it. If your need is outside the four types we support, we'll tell you and refund you.
What exactly do I get, and how fast?
You get a finished document customized to your answers, delivered to your email as both a PDF and an editable Word (.docx) file, usually within a few minutes. Every document is automatically quality-checked for completeness and consistency before it's sent. You fill in the signature blocks and sign it like any other agreement.
Which states do you support?
All 50 U.S. states plus D.C. You choose your governing state and the document references it. We only produce documents for U.S. jurisdictions.
What's your refund policy?
If we can't produce a clean document for you, or your request turns out to be outside what we support, we refund you automatically — you don't have to chase us. If something looks wrong with a document you received, email support@useclause.com and we'll make it right.
How does the $29/month subscription work?
It's unlimited documents across all four types for a flat $29/month — ideal if you send contracts or NDAs regularly. You can generate, re-generate, and adjust as your deals change. Cancel anytime; there's no contract and no cancellation fee.
Is my information private?
Yes. Your details are used only to generate your document and are stored securely. We never sell your data, and your payment card is handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store it.
